PUBLICATIONS

Professor Issam Awad has published more than 250 scholarly papers in peer reviewed journals, case reports and topic reviews and book chapters. These include papers in the most prestigious medical journals, and chapters in the major textbooks of neurosurgery and neuroscience. The publications address practical clinical innovations, outcomes studies, and technical innovations, and also contribute fundamental scientific contributions in neurovascular disease and neuroscience. Several papers include national guidelines on management of diseases such as aneurysms and vascular malformations, and others reflect landmark publications with cardinal impact on neurosurgical knowledge. Dr Awad is regularly invited to submit editorial comments on published papers in a number of journals, and he edits a bimonthly column entitled Science Times in Neurosurgery. Dr Awad has edited more than ten books and monographs, including critically acclaimed volumes on aneurysms, vascular malformations, and the philosophy of neurological surgery.
